Tips for a photo that gets accepted

Use a plain, light background. Stand in front of a white wall, or use Remove the background in the editor and the empty space turns white.
Face the camera straight on, with a neutral expression and your mouth closed. Keep your head level.
Use soft, even light from the front. Avoid shadows on your face or the wall behind you.
Take off glasses if you can, and keep hair off your eyes. Do not wear anything that covers your face.
Your face (chin to top of head) usually needs to fill about 70 to 80 percent of the height. The guide helps, but always check the exact rules for your country or form.
Do not apply filters or heavy retouching. Official photos must look like you.

What is the size of a passport photo in India?

The standard Indian passport photo is 35 × 45 mm (3.5 × 4.5 cm). Indian visa and OCI photos often ask for 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm), and PAN cards use 25 × 35 mm. Choose the one on your form. This tool has all of them.

Is this passport photo maker free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no watermark. You do not need an account to make and save your photo.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is opened, cut to size and saved on your own device, in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

How do I print many copies on one sheet?

After you place your face in the guide, tap Export and choose a print layout: 6 copies on a 4 × 6 inch sheet, or 30 on A4. Download it and print it at 100 percent size (no "fit to page") at home or at a photo shop.

Will my photo be accepted?

This tool gives you the right size and a face guide, but each country has its own rules for background, expression, head size and glasses. Check the official rules for your passport or visa before you print. Many offices also reject photos that were retouched or filtered.

Can I change the background to white?

Yes. Open the menu in the editor and choose Remove the background (it works best on photos of people). The empty space shows as white on your passport photo. Then check the edges of your hair and shoulders.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It is built for phones. Choose a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera, then drag and pinch to place your face.

Which other sizes can I make?

The tool offers 35 × 45 mm, 2 × 2 inch, 50 × 70 mm (Canada), 33 × 48 mm (China visa) and 25 × 35 mm (PAN card). You can also open the full editor and type any custom size.
