Nova Clip is a video editor that runs entirely in your web browser. It has a multi-track timeline, color grading, transitions, text templates, chroma key, speed ramps and audio tools — without installing anything.

Only to export. You can open the editor and edit without signing up. To download your finished video, create a free account with Google or email — the editor asks when you press Export & Download, and your project stays open while you sign in. Saving a project file and exporting a single frame don’t need an account.

Nova Clip works best in the latest Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on desktop, which have the fastest canvas rendering and the widest export support. Firefox and Safari work for most editing, but export options can be more limited.

Yes. On a phone the editor shows the preview on top and one panel below — Timeline, Media or Edit — chosen with the tabs at the bottom. Tap a clip to select it, swipe to scroll the timeline, press and hold a clip to move it (or hold without moving for its menu), drag the edges to trim, and pinch to zoom. Use the latest Chrome on Android for fast export; long or complex projects are still easier on a computer. The Android manual walks through it step by step.

Nova Animate is a free cartoon animation maker that runs in your browser, built for phones. You draw frame by frame or start from 103 ready-made characters and 28 backgrounds, make them move with one tap, add music and export a video. No account is needed. Nova Animate 3D is a free beta that makes videos of a 3D character on your phone. Yes. Tap Auto Caption on a clip with speech, then pick a style in Caption styles: Karaoke, Pop, Bold green, Highlight box, Neon, One word and more. The word being said is highlighted as it is spoken, and it is burned into your video when you export. You can change the size, the position and how many words are on a line, and fix a misheard word. Yes, in Nova Studio. Start from Passport photo (35 × 45 mm) or US passport (2 × 2 inch), fit your face to the dotted guide, and export a print sheet with 6 copies on a 4 × 6 inch sheet (or 30 on A4). Check your country’s rules for the head size and background first. Read how.

Yes. Open Video to MP3, choose the video, and save its sound as an MP3. You can cut just the part you want first. It happens on your device, so the video is not uploaded.

Open the Ringtone maker and choose your song. It starts on the loudest part, and you can move the handles to pick another. A ringtone can be up to 40 seconds on Android (saved as MP3) and 30 seconds on iPhone (saved as M4R). A website cannot add an iPhone ringtone for you, so add the M4R file with Finder on a Mac, or open it in GarageBand, then pick it under Settings, Sounds and Haptics, Ringtone.

Nova Forms is a free tool for online forms that runs in your browser, built for phones. Resize your photo and your signature to the exact pixels and KB a form asks for, and make, join, split, sign or shrink PDFs. Your files are never uploaded. Learn more.

Open the Photo resizer, choose your photo, and fit your face in the frame. Tap a quick setting such as IBPS / SBI photo or UPSC photo, or pick the pixels and the KB limit yourself, then tap Make my photo. The file is made under your limit and you see its size before you save. For a plain size limit, see Resize image to 50 KB.

Sign on white paper and take a photo. Open the Signature resizer, drag the corners so only your signature is in the box, tap Next, and pick a quick setting such as IBPS / SBI signature (140 × 60 pixels, 10 to 20 KB) or your own size. Then tap Make my signature. Always check the size on your own notice.

Every exam sets its own sizes and changes them from time to time, so read your own notice first. Nova Forms has a page for each exam with the sizes we read from the official notices and a button that opens the tool already set to that size: IBPS, SBI, SSC, RRB, UPSC, NEET and JEE, CUET, India Post GDS and Agniveer Vayu. Some exams now take your photo live with your camera on their own page, so only the signature is uploaded.

Yes. Open Image to PDF, choose up to 25 photos, put them in order, pick A4 or the size of the photo, and tap Under 200 KB under File size. The pictures are made smaller only as much as needed. Everything happens on your device.

Open Compress PDF, choose your PDF, pick a limit such as Under 200 KB, and tap Make my PDF smaller. A PDF that is already small enough is left as it is. Scanned pages are made lighter, only as much as needed, and you can take out pages you do not need first. Everything happens on your device.

Yes. Choose the PDF in Compress PDF or Merge PDF and Nova Forms asks for its password. It opens the PDF on your device, and the PDF you save has no password. The password is used once and is never kept or sent anywhere. For an e-Aadhaar, see Compress Aadhaar PDF.

Open PDF to JPG, choose your PDF, pick the size of each picture such as Under 100 KB, and tap Make my pictures. One page gives one JPG. A PDF with more pages gives a list: save each picture, or all of them in one ZIP. Everything happens on your device.

Open Split PDF, choose your PDF, and tap Every page, or tap Split here between the pages where a new file should start. Pick the size of each file if your form has a KB limit, and tap Split my PDF. Save the files one by one, or all of them in one ZIP. Everything happens on your device.

Open Sign PDF, choose your PDF, tap Signature, and draw your signature with your finger, or choose a photo of it. Drag it to the right place on the page, add your name or the date if you need to, and tap Sign my PDF. Everything happens on your device, so your PDF and your signature are not uploaded. It is a picture of your signature on the page, not a digital signature with a certificate, so read what your own form asks for. The tool carries a PRO tag and is free for now.

Yes. The Manuals page lists every user manual. Every manual is there in English and in हिन्दी (Hindi), from A to Z: Nova Clip (desktop and Android), Nova Animate, Nova Studio, Nova Audio and Nova Forms. You can download any of them as a PDF to keep on your phone.

Open Merge PDF, choose the PDF files and photos, put the pages in order, and tap Join into one PDF. If your form has a KB limit, pick it first. Your files are not uploaded.

Yes, after your first visit. The editor is saved on your device, so it opens and exports without a connection. Signing in, the contact form and pages you haven't opened before still need the internet.

On a computer, yes: in Chrome or Edge, click Install app in the top bar. Nova Clip then opens in its own window from your app list, works offline, and updates itself whenever the website does (see the desktop manual). On Android phones, Nova Clip will be an app on Google Play. Until then, use the editor in Chrome (see the Android manual).

Any video or audio format your browser can decode. MP4 (H.264), WebM, MP3, WAV and OGG work everywhere; MOV and MKV depend on the browser and codec. You can also import .srt/.vtt subtitles and .cube LUTs.

There is no upload, so there is no server limit — the limit is your device. In Chrome and Edge, Nova Clip reads audio in chunks, so hour-long videos work; we test with a 60-minute video. Large exports are saved to disk instead of being held in memory. On a computer in Chrome or Edge, an export over about 400 MB is written straight to a file you choose. On a phone, or in another browser that supports it, an export of about 50 MB or more is written to the browser's private storage as it is made, so it needs free space (Nova Clip tells you before it starts if there is not enough). Where a browser can do neither, the finished export is held in memory, and a very long one may need a lower resolution or quality.

The browser probably can't decode that codec. Convert the file to MP4 (H.264 + AAC) with a free tool such as HandBrake and try again.

Yes. Your edit is autosaved in your browser, so reopening the editor restores your timeline. For a permanent copy, use Save project to download a .nova.json file you can load later. Note that the project file stores your edits, not the media — keep your original clips.

Move the playhead to the cut point, select the clip and press S. See the keyboard shortcuts for every key.

Yes — Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Y to redo (use ⌘ on a Mac).

Place the green-screen clip on a track above your background, select it and turn on Chroma Key. Pick the Key Color, raise Tolerance until the background is gone, then add a little Softness for smooth edges. Details are in the User Manual.

Yes. Put the clip on an upper track, select it and use the Picture-in-Picture controls to choose a corner preset or set the size and position yourself.

You choose in the Export window: MP4 (H.264), which plays on almost every phone, computer and app, or WebM (VP9). The window opens on MP4. If your browser cannot make MP4, Nova Clip makes a WebM file instead, and the window says so before you start. Chrome and Edge usually can make MP4. The Web Preview and Draft presets choose WebM.

In Chrome and Edge on a desktop, Nova Clip uses fast export: it decodes and encodes frames directly with WebCodecs, usually several times faster than real time. Projects that use speed changes, reverse or freeze frames — and browsers without WebCodecs — use real-time export, which takes about as long as the video; keep the tab visible while it runs.

Yes. Put the playhead on the frame and press F to download it as a PNG image.

No. Exported videos contain only your content.

No. Your media is processed inside your browser and never sent to a server. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

If you create an account, your name, email and profile photo (for Google sign-in). If you use the contact form, your name, email and message, which we use to reply. We also add up anonymous daily counts: which page was opened, where the visit came from (the site that linked to it, the tag of the link, or the app it was opened in), whether the device is a phone or a computer, and, once a day per browser, the browser, operating system and language, and the country and state the visit comes from (a small service of ours works them out from your IP address for that moment, answers with those two names and keeps nothing). The editor also counts exports (format, mode and length, never file names or content) and failed exports by error type. The apps count which tool gave a result (for example Compress PDF or MP3 cutter), and once a day per browser that a tool was used, never the file, its name or what is in it. When something breaks (a script error, a tool that could not finish, or a message that says something failed), a count is added for that problem, once a day per browser: the page, the place in our code or the step of the tool, the kind of error and the kind of browser, never the file, what is in it, what you typed or the text of the error. There are no cookies, no IP address is kept and nothing identifies you, and nothing is counted when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. If you answer the feedback card that may come after a tool gives a result (five faces and a few buttons), your answers are stored without your name or email. If you write to us in the Feedback box, you sign in with Google and what you type is stored as a message with your name and email, so that we can answer you; our answer comes to your Account page.
