The India Post GDS form asks for a photograph and a signature as JPG files. Choose your picture, and Nova Forms saves it at the size in the table: a photo of 30 to 100 KB and a signature of 20 to 50 KB. It is made on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
These are the sizes in the notices we know of for India Post GDS (Gramin Dak Sevak). Exams change them from time to time, so always read the size on your own notice. If it is different, open the tool and choose Other size.
The July 2026 notification asks for a fresh photo on a plain white or light background, with your face filling most of the picture. It says not to upload a selfie or a scan of an old photo, and to look at the preview after you upload.
| Picture | Size | File size | Open |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 320 × 400 pixels (4:5) | 30–100 KB | Make it → |
| Photograph, if the portal says 50 KB | 320 × 400 pixels (4:5) | 30–50 KB | Make it → |
| Signature | 300 × 120 pixels (5:2) | 20–50 KB | Make it → |
We read these sizes in the India Post GDS Online Engagement notification of Schedule-II (July 2026) and the user manual of the GDS online engagement portal.
Tap Make it on the picture you need in the table. Nova Forms opens already set to that size and KB.
Pick a photo from your phone or computer, or take one with your phone camera. For a photo, move and zoom it until your face is in the frame.
Tap the button at the bottom. The file is made at the size in the table, and you see the size in KB.
Tap Save file, then upload that file on your form. Do the next picture the same way.
Each button opens the tool with the pixels and the KB limit already filled in. You can still change them.
The picture is made at the size in the table, and the file is kept between the smallest and the largest KB. A little invisible padding brings a small file up to the smallest.
A photo of your signature on paper becomes dark writing on a clean white background, cut to fit.
Big buttons, a camera button on phones, and a frame you move and zoom with your fingers.
Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Your photo is not sent to a server.
No watermark, no account, no limit on how many you make.
The Nova Forms user manual explains every tool from A to Z, with the sizes, steps and fixes. Read it here in English or हिन्दी, or download the PDF.
