UPSC wants your photograph and your signature as JPG files of 20 to 300 KB. Choose your picture, and Nova Forms saves it at a size inside the range in the UPSC FAQ. It is made on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
These are the sizes in the notices we know of for UPSC (Civil Services and more). Exams change them from time to time, so always read the size on your own notice. If it is different, open the tool and choose Other size.
The Civil Services 2026 notification also asks you to take a live photo while you fill in the form, and to sign three times, one below the other, on plain white paper with a black ink pen. Read the instructions on the UPSC website for the exact size of the signature picture.
| Picture | Size | File size | Open |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 600 × 600 pixels (550 to 1000 allowed) | 20–300 KB | Make it → |
| Signature | 400 × 400 pixels (350 to 500 allowed) | 20–300 KB | Make it → |
We read these sizes in the UPSC online application FAQs (two versions of them) and the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 notification.
Tap Make it on the picture you need in the table. Nova Forms opens already set to that size and KB.
Pick a photo from your phone or computer, or take one with your phone camera. For a photo, move and zoom it until your face is in the frame.
Tap the button at the bottom. The file is made at the size in the table, and you see the size in KB.
Tap Save file, then upload that file on your form. Do the next picture the same way.
Each button opens the tool with the pixels and the KB limit already filled in. You can still change them.
The picture is made at the size in the table, and the file is kept between the smallest and the largest KB. A little invisible padding brings a small file up to the smallest.
A photo of your signature on paper becomes dark writing on a clean white background, cut to fit.
Big buttons, a camera button on phones, and a frame you move and zoom with your fingers.
Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Your photo is not sent to a server.
No watermark, no account, no limit on how many you make.
