How to use the Hindi keyboard

  1. Type

    Press the keys of your English keyboard in the box, or tap the Hindi keyboard below it. Joined letters, vowel signs and dots are all there.

  2. Use Shift

    Every key has two letters. The small one is typed with Shift: K types क, and Shift + K types ख.

  3. Copy

    Tap Copy and paste the text into WhatsApp, Word, a form or anywhere else. You can also download a .txt file or send it straight to WhatsApp.

Is this Hindi keyboard free?
Yes. It is free, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
How do I type Hindi with an English keyboard?
Keep "InScript keys" on and press the keys. Every key types the letter it has in InScript: K types क, J types र, L types त, and Shift + K types ख. The chart below shows every key.
Is this the kind of keyboard where typing namaste gives नमस्ते?
No. This is InScript: every key has its own letter. A tool that turns English spellings into Hindi words (namaste into नमस्ते) is not part of it.
Does it replace the Hindi keyboard of my phone?
No. It works in the box on this page. Type, tap Copy, and paste the text wherever you like.
How do I type ? and !?
InScript has no keys for them, because its keys are Hindi letters. Tap "?!" on the keyboard on the screen and a row of signs opens.
How do I type Hindi digits?
Turn on "Hindi digits (०-९)". Then the digit keys type १ २ ३.
Is what I write saved or sent?
No. Everything happens in your browser. The choices you make (such as Hindi digits) are kept on your device. The site counts how many times the text was copied or downloaded, without any of the text.
